Hair cut!

I finally got my haircut today and it feels SO good! I had wanted to get it cut after Heidi was born, but one thing led to another and I was not able to get it done until now. Over the last couple of weeks, I had gotten really tired of it. It was so long that even in a braid, it was getting into everything. I wanted to be done. A couple of times I almost just hacked it off. But, I held back and today Nicole and Kim came over. Nicole and I took turns having Kim cut our hair while the other watched the kids!
I am so excited to have my hair cut and to be donating the braid to Lock of Love.....I have been wanting to donate my hair to them for most of my life, but only now have been able to let it grow long enough to do so!

Project 52: silly times

because as a mom, sometimes we just have to be silly with our kids...

Yep, it's a fun life. We have a lot of laughs around here.

What else is happening this week in Project 52: Glimpse Into Motherhood? Lets go find out!

In the Crosshairs: messes and carpet in dining rooms

this is the space directly beneath my table. You see, my table has one "leg" which branches out into four at the bottom. This space that is created under there is very hard to clean. Especially for someone so phlegmatically lazy as I am. Who wants to have to use the attachments on the vacuum EVERY time?!? So, it often stays messy under there. And even though I am a self-proclaimed lazy phlegmatic, it still bugs me. Grr.
Oh, and I HATE carpet in the dining area. Dumbest idea ever....well, maybe carpet in a bathroom is worse, but not much.

Project 52: chewing and photoshoot.

Heidi really likes to chew on things.....blankets, clothes, fingers, you name it. In this picture, she's chewing on my finger. Thankfully, she doesn't have any teeth yet...

And, we had a little photoshoot that same day. Here's my favorite....I'm even in it with my little ones!

It sure is a challenge to try and get a good picture of all three of them together!

Project 52: crochet

I have crocheted for most of my life. My mom taught me when I was little. I also learned to knit, but didn't keep up with it and therefore am much better and more comfortable with crochet.

So, the other day my darling 6 year old little man asked me to teach him how to knit. I told him that I wasn't very good at knitting and would rather teach him crochet. He was very excited and picked out the black yarn I have in my stash (no surprise there, since his current favorite color is black)

We got to work with my personal step number one: rolling the yarn into a ball.

And then, we met with the reason I roll my yarn into balls before starting: the dreaded knot. Momma went to work on this doozy:

I did manage to get it all out, with the exception of one tiny knot, which will easily be crocheted into whatever project we're doing at the time.

And so, off to the next step: learning to chain. And this is where we left off. Liam's really liking it so far and keeps asking (unfortunately at times when I have to say no) to continue learning. I am happy that my little guy wants to do this with me!

Don't forget to go take a look at the rest of the motherhood glimpses!

Self

I actually like how this turned out----even with being a little grainy and blurry. :-)

Project 52: first foods

It's a little early, but Heidi's been acting like she was ready to start solids for quite some time now and with her suddenly deciding that she needs to nurse all night long, I bought some baby rice cereal and started her on it about a week ago......

(This is her "I'm not sure what I think of this" look)....after not really getting anywhere with the "runny" version, I decided to try thick. Sure enough, just like the boys did, she gobbled it down.

The cereal has cut back on her wanting to nurse all night long, but she's still waking up alot and not wanting to sleep in her crib, so I am not sure we accomplished what I was going for....which was more sleep, ha ha....but hopefully it will all smooth out soon.

Taking Turns

The birds were at the feeder like crazy when it snowed here last week:
