See these socks? Liam wore these socks when he was EIGHT months old! David is only 2 1/2 months old!!! The boy has really BIG feet!!!!

cousins

Liam (complete with chocolately lips), David and Pierce
Three months apart....Pierce 5 months, David 2 months.

Baking Frenzy

Liam mixing up the pumpkin bread.
Oatmeal/peanut butter/chocolate chip cookies (ended up making bars)
Pumpkin bread and muffins baking
Showing off the cheesy rolls
The end result:
12 pumpkin chocolate chip muffins
1 loaf pumpkin chocolate chip bread
16 cheesy rolls
1 pan of oatmeal/peanut butter/chocolate chip bars
and:
1 afternoon of baking with Liam. Altogether a success, even though the loaf and bars got a little too well done.

So, I had put David in his swing so I could spend a little time surfing the internet, and he wasn't liking the idea very much and was fussing.
Liam went over and I've let them be to see what happens. Here's the outcome so far:
First, Liam turned OFF the swing. Usually a bad idea, but didn't seem to make a difference this time.
Then, Liam started playing with the fish mobile, two of the fish talking to each other about how they are not boy friend and girl friend. Odd conversation to be imagined by a 3 1/2 year old, but okay.
Then Liam started gibbering at David and touching his face. Mom intervenes---"Don't poke him like that." ... "Don't pinch his nose" ... "Be gentle".
Then Liam stepped back and put on his 'air guitar' and started jamming out and singing. This worked until Liam started scream-singing, at which point David started screaming too. Mom intervenes again---"You're scaring him, not so loud honey!"

Well, Liam has apparently gotten bored with his self-given job as David's entertainment. Mommy's turn.

Our now annual trip to the lake was wonderful again this year. The weather didn't cooperate, but we had a great time nonetheless...Not much time spent in the lake, but lots of time spent together, which is what makes vacations memorable. While we didn't canoe or take walks to swim much, we did complete a 1000 piece puzzle (well, 999 cuz one piece was missing), play Garbage and Yatzee, read, play with trains and bouncy balls and cars, watched the olympics, and ate tons of delicious food.......We had a marvelous time and I can't wait for next year to come around again!
