They've had our deck inaccessible for months, and it is now able to be used! It has been a long process, but I think the end result is quite nice. Would you like to come along with me on the journey of the deck?
This was our deck this last summer:
This was October 17th. They had ripped the original railing off and barracked the door:
The boys like to watch...here they are watching the workers tear the old deck apart:
The workers built a new deck and created a bubble of plastic around it. After this they spread stinky paint stuff on the boards, which gave it a waterproof finish. One of the layers gets covered in sand, and so there is a nice texture:
They had to tear out our sliding door to put in a special metal plate under it:
Finally putting up the new rails, on January 22nd:
All done! After three months we get to go outside and enjoy our deck again! How nice!
