Anyway, she does this thing on her blog called Five Minute Friday where she gives a subject, usually just a word from what I've seen, and people are supposed to write about the subject for 5 minutes. And then post it. Unedited...unscripted....in other words......Raw.
When I first found her last week I thought it was a fabulous idea. This week, I am joining in. Not sure I'll make it every week, but I will try.
This week's subject is: "Story". Here's what came out.....
Story
I used to write stories. When I was a teen ager I wrote and
wrote and wrote.
Now I hardly ever write….fiction. Oh, I blog occasionally,
but it seems to happen less and less.
The stories still swirl around in my head. Usually at night….when
I can’t sleep. That’s when I let them out. Let myself dream a little and bring
a fictional reality to light.
And it’s fun. I like making up worlds and characters and
lives that have little to nothing to do with the one I live every day. I like
using names I would never name anyone in real life, putting together a
character I would never be…..
My stories are an extension of me…..of my thoughts and
feelings, some of my dreams and aspirations. Sometimes they are just fancy.
They are always entertaining.
I should write more. If only to let out some of these
stories swirling around in my head. But I seem to always begin and never end a
story these days. I never seem to be able to get to the point of “the end”.

I hope you do write them down! And I suspect that you will. Because we writers when given words MUST WRITE.
I'm praying that there will be space and grace and time for you to serve your craft so I can read the words that you weave some day!
I love the way you talk about words and stories swirling around! I think you did such a great job in the 5 minute Friday post this week! Maybe you should start off by challenging yourself to just write 5 minutes each day or every other day to help get some of those swirling ideas in your blog or on paper!
Write girl...write. I am the same. I want to write yet don't find the time....thankfullly we have this friday prompt! :)
Happy Friday...er Saturday
