Project 52: Mommy, fix it!

I am often approached by one of my children, toy in hand, this phrase on their lips: "it broke. Can you fix it?"
Often, the answer is "yes". Sometimes it's "maybe". Other times it's "ask Dad".....and sadly, there are the times when it's "no".
My kids love the transformers toys. What's not to love? It's a robot AND a car/truck/whatever! Bumblebee actually lives in my drawer because the boys fight over him non-stop.
Anyway, I've had lots of requests of fixing when it comes to these transformers toys.....mostly in regards to the actual act of transforming them, but also to put back on arms or legs. Usually it's a simple snap job that's just requires mommy strength. This last time however......

"It's all fun and games until Optimus Prime loses a leg."

That's no simple snap job. It's fully broken. Sad.

Project 52: Piñata

We had a piñata at my parents house for all the kids while we were house sitting. My friend Pam made it for us and it turned out so cute! Here are my boys taking their turns with "Fred"...

Dice for Japan

I told Liam about what happened in Japan and the first thing he said was "WE HAVE TO HELP THEM!"

Well, I told him we would try to think of something we could do. That night, I was laying in bed trying to think of something and then the idea came:

We could make hand-made dice and sell them and give the money to an organization helping out with the relief efforts in Japan! I was so excited that I actually had an idea that could work that I had such a hard time getting to sleep!

It has taken longer than I expected to get this little project done and able to be announced, but we are finally there!

So, here they are folks. Dice for Japan! Hand made and hand painted! We will be packaging them up in a set of 5 and asking for a 5 dollar minimum donation per set!

There are red, blue and green sets to choose from:

Oh, and we will be giving the money to World Vision. We have sponsored a child through them before and know they are working to help with the relief efforts in Japan!

Please leave a comment if you are interested in helping out!

In the middle of house sitting

Project 52: digging

we are house sitting for my parents and they have had a gravel pile in the back yard for sometime. The boys love digging in it. Here, Liam and two friends are digging some trenches!

Let's go see what the other participants of Project 52: Glimpses into Motherhood are up to this week!

First days of house sitting

we are having fun so far house sitting for my parents. We got here yesterday afternoon...got settled, went to the park....

.....once evening came we settled down and watched Tangled.....cute movie!

Today we were going to see our friends but one of them is sick, so we had a stay at the house day. The weather has been beautiful and spent time outside....

...it's so nice and warm that we went barefoot...actually, the boys stripped down to birthday suits and ran around!

Daniel is supposed to come over tonight, so that will be a good end to our second day!

Project 52: Carrots

My little girl really likes food! When it is breakfast/lunch/dinner time she sits near us and stares at us eating!
So far, she's had rice cereal, apple sauce and now carrots...

Ah, introducing solid foods is so much fun!
