Thanksgiving 2008

Every year we either go to my inlaws for thanksgiving or to my familys. This was our year to do thanksgiving with my family, and my brother and his finacee hosted thanksgiving at their house. It was a wonderful evening: delicious food, great company and an all around good time. Here's just a few pictures from the evening.

Feet Friday

These little feet belong to a little girl at my church. She's about David's age. I had the pleasure of helping her get to sleep tuesday morning and couldn't resist taking a picture with my phone's camera.

Scariest and Most Embarrasing Mommy Moment

So, the high majority of you who read my blog know that I have two boys. Two wonderful, beloved, darling little boys.
And, as anyone who has kids knows, having kids means giving up alot of your basic "rights" in life. Like the right to a good night's sleep.

And, as anyone knows, sleep deprivation leads to all sorts of interesting things. My own experience with sleep deprivation has lead me to what is and probably will forever be one of the scariest and most embarrassing moments of my entire life.

It happened when Liam was a baby. Jonny worked an evening shift as a janitor, leaving around 3 or 4 and getting home sometime after midnight.
On this particular night, I had put Liam to bed, and fell asleep myself. Sometime later, I woke up to Liam fussing. I went over to his crib to check on him and HE WAS NOT THERE.
I freaked. I started looking all over the house. Maybe I had put him in my bed with me and forgot. NOPE. Maybe he was in the other room. NOPE. I seriously searched EVERYWHERE and COULD NOT FIND HIM. I even lifted the lid of the toilet, although how he would have gotten in there and closed the lid on himself, I still can't figure out.
So, I was seriously scared out of my mind. I was seconds away from calling Jon in tears....

And then....he fussed again. And I finally found him.

You want to know where? I'll tell you where.

I HAD BEEN HOLDING HIM THE ENTIRE TIME!

I must had him in bed with me and not realized it. That's all I can think.
Even now, as I write out the story, it seems so ridiculous. And surreal. As if it should have been a bad dream and not real. But, the memory of that night still ties my stomach up in knots from the genuine fear I had while searching the house for the boy I was holding.

The Current Favorite

SQUASH! David just inhaled the stuff. He loved it! Even more than pears, which surprised me!

David is doing so good with his solids. He eats three times a day now. Rice cereal for breakfast and dinner and whichever veggie or fruit he's currently on for lunch. And, he's eating a whole container of the veggies or fruit at a time, too!
Still wants to nurse *all the time* though. I wonder what it's going to take to slow that down?!?

Early To Bed

We've been trying to get the boys to bed a little bit earlier. It's kind of hard, with me working evenings at Starbucks and all, but we are working on it. Tonight, I got both boys in bed by 8:30! I felt so good about that! If only this could be a trend, maybe Jon and I could actually have some time alone in the evenings....except that that leads to games of hangman in which Jonny kicks my bootay!

Here's a recent picture of my wee ones, enjoy:

PS... please be praying for us as we have some very serious decisions to make. Especially about me working (more about that later). Thanks!

Silly Sunday Morning

So, Sunday morning for church, I wet down Liam's hair and pulled the majority of it into a tail at the back. It looked really snazzy. I wanted a nice picture of him.....well, this is what I ended up with.
hiding behind a toy:
running from the camera:
more running:
he gave up to watch tv:
and let me get a side view:

new look

I changed my site a little, let me know what you think!

Take a close look at the "overheard" quote. It's hilarious. We were watching a football game and a comercial for blu-ray came on and one of the pictures was of Aslan and Lucy from the Prince Caspian movie. What came next is my "overheard" quote.

PEAS!

David had his first veggies yesterday! Peas! He's not the biggest fan of them, he wears them more than he eats them.

"If you fit into my pants, I will kill myself"

If any of you have seen the movie "While You Were Sleeping", then you know the context of the title quote...
anyway, tonight, Jon calls to me from the other room, "I can wear your pants!"
I come around the corner to see that not only is he wearing my pants, but THEY ARE TOO BIG FOR HIM!!!!!!!!

swing time

David is really starting to interact with his swing.
He pulls himself forward and plays with the little sea creatures on his tray.

He also tries to eat them. Mmmmm, tasty!
